Reading the journal

The site can be read without registering and uses no cookies, analytics or third-party services. The server receives only the technical data needed to answer requests, such as the device’s IP address: this is the minimal working of any website, based on the controller’s legitimate interest in providing the service securely. No browsing logs are kept, no reader profiles are built, and no automated decision-making takes place.

Where the data live

The site is hosted on a server located in the European Union with an IT provider acting as data processor. Data are not transferred outside the European Union and are not disclosed to other parties, except where the law requires it.

Writing to the editorial office

Anyone sending an email, for instance to submit an article, freely entrusts the editorial office with their address and what they write. These data are used only to reply and for editorial work, on the basis of the response requested by the person concerned; they are not shared with anyone else and are kept for as long as the correspondence requires.

The editorial area

The staff’s working pages use a single technical cookie, which recognises who has signed in with their password. It concerns the editors only, requires no consent as it is strictly necessary to the service, and expires by itself after sixty days.

Embedded videos

If an article embeds a YouTube video, the player is loaded through the service’s enhanced-privacy mode (youtube-nocookie.com); playback is subject to Google’s terms.

Your rights

Everyone has the right to know whether the controller processes their data and to obtain access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing or portability, as well as the right to object to processing based on legitimate interest. Just write to the address above. You also retain the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian data protection authority (www.garanteprivacy.it).
