After a long interruption Studi Umbri resumes publication, that is, it reappears online. We had to solve a few small problems, we changed provider, and we also changed the homepage (for the fourth time: almost certainly a record, considering that the changes have come more frequently than once every two issues). The editorial project nonetheless remains the original one: a journal of culture, open to contributions ranging from the figurative arts to the performing arts, from general socio-political matters to those more immediately tied to the region in which we live. The most significant novelty, however, is that we have set up an enlarged editorial board, which assesses and proposes the contributions to be published; but this does not mean that, as was clear from the very beginning, we are willing to welcome works submitted to us by our readers (the conditions of acceptance and the editorial guidelines can be found in the contacts drop-down menu). This issue six, the first of the “new series”, opens with a story by Marcello Marino: the idea of hosting works of fiction was one we had had from the start, but then, for reasons that are not clear, it never came about. At last we have managed it. Obviously, given the name of the journal, it is clear that most of the works featured will refer to Umbria, but beyond that a special place will be reserved in every issue for an article more specifically aimed at promoting Umbria, whether from the historical and artistic point of view (the cities of art and the masterpieces preserved in them) or from the standpoint of excellence in food and agriculture (olive oil, pork specialities); nor will there be any lack of information on events and activities of common interest, information intended both to encourage tourism from outside the region and, at the same time, to inform Umbria’s residents of the range of offerings available in the area. In this regard this first issue features an article devoted to cycle paths: it will be useful to the many enthusiasts of this activity, who perhaps, for want of information, venture to practise it on roads that are often very busy.
